As the World Cup and temperatures heat up, Barbakoa, a modern Latin restaurant and bar in Downers Grove, has futbol fever as it celebrates the Latin countries and the U.S. participating in the 2014 FIFA soccer games.

From now to Sunday, July 13, Barbakoa will feature drink specials that coordinate with the soccer matches. Depending on which countries are playing at any given time, Barbakoa will offer a specific cocktail, beer or wine from that country for $6 while the match takes place.

See below for a full list of cocktails and beers offered as a special for each country. The soccer matches will be shown on Barbakoa's many flat-screen televisions throughout the entirety of the World Cup, and further drink specials will be announced.

About the venue

Barbakoa's concept is the result of a partnership between Jerry Kleiner and the Buonavolanto family, who recruited award-winning Chef Dudley Nieto and mixologist Adam Seger. The restaurant is described as a modern interpretation of Latin cooking with roots in Central and South America, and the Spanish Caribbean – enriched by many European influences.
