The 23rd annual Berwyn Route 66 Car Show is about to rev up, and it's not too late to get in on the act. On historic Route 66, it's glory days again for 500 vintage and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.

The event offers appearances by drag racing professionals, automobile flame-throwing, live music from the Crown Vics, and a color guard procession. Also demonstrated will be a “Cacklefest,” the rapid-fire pushstarting of vintage dragsters.

The Crown Vics will perform hits from the 1950s' birth of rock 'n' roll and R&B.

Vehicles will be displayed along  Ogden Avenue between Oak Park and Ridgeland avenues. The event is sponsored by Paisans Pizzeria & Bar in Berwyn.

The show is free to spectators. Online registration costs $30 until Aug. 23, $40 at the event. Contact Berwyn Development Corporation at 708-788-8100 or visit
